Workshops on how to improve our academic writing skills

As a non-native English speaker (and non-native Academic writer), I understand that students might need some complementary guidance in learning how to navigate the academic writing universe...
[2018-2019] Workshop From the philosophical argument to the academic paper

José Emmanuel Mendoza Bock and I coordinated an activity for our undergrad students:
  • The workshop involved three monthly sessions on 'theoretical' methodological approaches to academic Philosophy in which we introduced some tools to achieve clearer, more precise and maybe richer academic papers.
  • We gave the students a couple of months to apply such tools to their research to write first, extended abstracts and then short academic papers.
  • We also offered two sessions on how to do peer-review evaluations  of abstracts and papers (and through these sessions, the students reviewed their colleagues' abstracts and papers)
  • Finally, after almost 9 months, we hosted a workshop in which, for two whole days (yesterday and today) we had the opportunity of witnessing their resulting excellent work.
The presentation of each student was not only incredibly well done, but the philosophical contributions were extremely unique and interesting. In addition, the spirit that all of them showed when attending all the session (16 hours in total!!) and giving critical (written) feedback to each of their peers was really something.
